Description
B9X Basic Developer Module
Powerful ESP32-S3 development made easier with B9X Basic.
The B9X Basic Developer Module is designed for makers, engineers, technicians, educators, and developers who want the power of an ESP32-S3 system without spending their time dealing with the complexity normally associated with embedded C development.
At the heart of the system is B9X Basic, our embedded programming language designed specifically for creating real hardware applications.
Write straightforward programs using familiar concepts such as:
let temperature=readTemperature(4);
if temperature>80 then
print "Temperature High";
endif
B9X Basic goes far beyond simple GPIO programming. The Developer Module provides a complete platform for building sophisticated connected products and control systems.
The integrated 3.5-inch color capacitive touchscreen can be programmed directly from B9X Basic. Create pushbuttons, rounded buttons, labels, editable text boxes, password fields, checkboxes, sliders, list boxes, meters, switches, indicator lamps, touchable BMP graphics, keyboards and more.
A library of 121 built-in graphics and industrial control icons makes it easy to create polished interfaces without designing every graphic yourself. Your programs can dynamically change icons and display elements as equipment conditions change.
The module also provides extensive multimedia and communications capabilities. B9X Basic applications can work with MP3 audio, text-to-speech, voice recognition, MQTT, encrypted UDP VOIP audio, OpenAI integration, microSD files, infrared devices, WS2812 LEDs, temperature sensors, battery monitoring, GPIO and nonvolatile settings storage.
For example, an application can display controls on the touchscreen, read a sensor, publish the value through MQTT, receive commands from another device, store configuration information, play audio, and update the screen—all from B9X Basic.
The module is especially well suited for projects such as industrial control panels, machine interfaces, home automation controllers, MQTT nodes, touchscreen instrumentation, remote controls, monitoring stations, internet-connected devices, portable controllers, experimental AI interfaces, and custom VOIP/radio applications.
B9X Basic supports numeric and string variables, arrays, mathematical expressions, IF/ELSE decisions, FOR and WHILE loops, subroutines, user-defined functions, mixed numeric/string function arguments, and functions that return either numeric or string values.
You don’t have to start from an empty screen either. The B9X Basic Screen Designer makes it possible to visually design touchscreen interfaces and generate the corresponding B9X Basic code, greatly reducing the amount of hand coding required for sophisticated graphical interfaces.
Configuration values such as server addresses, ports, passwords and application preferences can be stored in nonvolatile memory so they remain available after power is removed. Applications can also read and write files on the microSD card.
The result is a development system that bridges the gap between easy-to-understand BASIC programming and serious ESP32-S3 embedded hardware.
Whether you’re building your first microcontroller project or developing a sophisticated touchscreen controller, the B9X Basic Developer Module gives you a practical way to move from an idea to working hardware.
Less time fighting the development environment. More time building your project.
